Jonathan has been playing pedal steel guitar since 2005. Having studied the instrument under BJ Cole and John McClung, he cut his teeth recording with
The Ivy York Band and Mr Plow as well as recreating Ben Keith's distinctive sound for Neil Young tribute act Sedan Delivery. For over ten years Jon has been the steel guitarist with London honky tonk band East Lonesome Drifters and has backed singer-songwriters Pat Reedy and Laurence Kingston. He regularly plays theatre venues with country music review show Made in Tennessee and in the band of acclaimed traditional country singer Ags Connolly. As well as being in demand as a player, Jon is an established pedal steel teacher – so get in touch if you would like to take E9th lessons remotely or in-person.
